The MP for Weija Hon. Shirley Ayorkor Botchway has urged government to be mindful of the way it handles issues in the country in order not to send wrong signals to foreign investors who would like to invest in the country.
Making her contribution to the debate on the 2010 budget in parliament, today, Hon. Ayorkor Botchway cited the NDC government�s handling of the Vodafone transaction among other cases which she said could scare potential investors away from the country.
She observed that the 2010 budget focuses a lot on the pursuit of vigorous economic diplomacy to promote foreign direct investment and tourism in the Country, Hon. Ayorkor Botchway also expressed concern about the fact that foreign direct investment rather declined from $2.1 billion in 2008 to $875 million in 2009.
