The government has sourced 17 million Euros from Agence Francaise Development of France, to provide 620 boreholes in the 22 municipal and district assemblies in the Brong Ahafo Region.
Madam Fati Mumuni, Regional Extension Services Specialist of the Community Sanitation and Water Agency disclosed this at the second ordinary session of the fifth meeting of Techiman Municipal Assembly.
She said 18 small town water systems, three multi water village systems and 112 hand-dug wells would be constructed in the region under the programme.
A total of 5,000 house-hold improved latrines and 160 institutional latrines will also be provided in schools and clinics.
Madam Mumuni said the five per cent contributions by beneficiary assemblies and communities towards the project had been waived.
Mr. Alex Kyeremeh, Municipal Chief Executive, lauded the programme, saying "most communities are faced with water and sanitation problems".
