Mr William Adansi-Gyimah, Assembly Member for Apagya near New Edubiase in the Adansi South District, has called on the Ministry of Road and Highways to expedite action on the reconstruction of Anhwiankwanta-Yamorasa Highway.
He told the Ghana News Agency that traveling on it posed greater difficulty and risk due to its bad nature.
Reconstruction works on the road, which began two years ago, had virtually come to a standstill.
Mr Adansi-Gyimah said the highway is used by most of the heavy-duty trucks that cart cocoa, timber and other goods to and from the Takoradi Port.
He said everything, therefore, should be done to save the highway from further deterioration.
