The driver of a mini-bus was killed and 10 others in the vehicle suffered serious injuries following a head-on collision with a truck on the Kumasi-Bibiani highway.
The deceased was identified as Philip Takyi, 42. The injured were rushed to the Bibiani Government Hospital, where they are receiving treatment for their wounds.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Ernest Fosu, Nyinahin Police Commander, told the Ghana News Agency that the accident occurred at about 1400 hours on Friday.
The deceased was said to have attempted to overtake four vehicles ahead of him and in the process crashed into the cargo truck.
The driver of the truck escaped with slight scratches.
Meanwhile, the body of the deceased has been deposited at the Bibiani hospital.
