The Police has busted two Nigerians for allegedly possessing 10 large parcels of compressed dried leaves suspected to be Indian Hemp at a bus terminal in Accra.
They are Felix Segun 26, and John Adjindiku Afeda 29. Speaking to journalists in Accra, Greater Accra Regional Police Commander, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP) Rose Bio Atinga said the suspects were picked up on August 19, this year, at ABC Bus Terminal near Caprice following a tip-off.
She said the suspects had in their possession parcels of compressed dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp which they attempted to transport to Nigeria.
DCOP Atinga said when the Police received the information, some personnel were dispatched to the bus terminal and on arrival saw the suspects boarding a bus to Nigeria.
The suspects were rounded up by the Police and during interrogation, DCOP Atinga, said one of them said his mother was critically ill and had to engage in the drug business to take care of her.
She said the dried leaves would be forwarded to the Police Forensic Unit for examination while the suspects would appear in Court.
