The Government of Ghana has removed three appointees from the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital Board.
They are Stella Quaye, Eric Atieku and Fritz Baffour. Their removal follows reported cases of boardroom wrangling that seem to be affecting the effective management of the hospital.
The other members of the board are institutional representatives, who cannot be replaced by government. Sources close to the Ministry of Health said the Board members will be notified by close of business on Wednesday.
A new chairman and appointees would be announced in consultation with the Council of State.
Professor Andrews Seth Aryeettey, the board chair relinquished his post on February 29 following the never-ending boardroom power struggle with the CEO, Prof. Nii Otu Nartey.
