President John Mahama has hinted that the agric sector will spearhead the economic upsurge in the second term of the NDC government.
He said everything is being done to halt the traditional hoe and cutlass methods of farming and replace it with technology led modern methods of farming to ensure food security.
President Mahama said agricultural modernization has been the secret of the successes chalked up by the sector over the last four years.
President Mahama said this at the 28th National Farmers Day held at Abokobi in the Greater Accra Region.
51 individuals and 10 extension officers were rewarded.
