A 35-year-old taxi driver, Kofi Adu, has been murdered at South Suntreso a suburb of Kumasi in the Ashanti Region by unknown assailants.
The incident occurred around 1:00am Wednesday morning according to residents.
Narrating the incident on Peace FM's 6am news bulletin, Ashanti Regional correspondent and of Hello FM, Sampson Kwame Nyamekye, said the neighbours in the vicinity heard cries and shout out for help but because of the time they were afraid to come out to help.
They later came out and found the taxi driver, who was identified as Kofi Adu, murdered and left in his car.
According to Sampson, the assailants left Kofi Adu's Opel Vectra Taxi with registration number GT 2307P without smashing or destroying it and neither did they take any personal belongings of him.
It is not yet certain whether the murder was committed by armed robbers who were trying to take his car or assassins.
Meanwhile, his body has since been deposited at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital in Kumasi, while the police are still continuing with their investigations.
