The parents of a sixteen year old boy who was burnt with an electric heater by his aunt and cousin in Adabraka are hiding him from the police and journalists for fear of destroying family ties.

Idrissu Mohammed was tortured on Monday with the hot electric heater for allegedly stealing 200 Ghana Cedis from his uncle’s room.

Reporters from Citi Fm who went to the house faced serious resistance from family members and neighbours who saw a publication of the violent act as being against family cohesion.

Iddrissu told Citi News he was innocent of the crime but was tied to a chair and burnt with the heater by his nephew in the presence of his aunt.

“They beat me and put me inside a room and use an electric heater to burn me.”

Idrissu Mohammed who complains of severe pains from the burns says he does not wish to see his abusers held accountable.
