A 16-year-oldschool dropout from Winneba has been remanded in Padu Children’s Home by the Agona Swedru Magistrates Court for defiling a nine-month-old baby girl.
His plea was not taken and he will appear before the court on February 19.
Briefing the court, presided over by Mr. Kweku Baah Frimpong, Police Chief Inspector Ivy Agadia said Madam Florence Arthur, the mother of the victim and also the complainant, resided with the suspect in the same vicinity at Winneba Victoria Road.
Chief Inspector Agadia said on February 4, at about 2pm, Ayi visited a friend in the complainant’s house and saw the victim playing while the mother was asleep in the room.
The prosecutor said the suspect took the girl to an abandoned building, behind the Winneba prisons and had carnal knowledge of her.
During the act, the girl bled profusely and the suspect took the child to the sea and washed her and brought her back to the mother.
The Chief Inspector said the mother detected that the daughter was bleeding and shouted for help.
A report was made to the police and the suspect was arrested
