Dozens of people are alleged to have been displaced following a heavy downpour at Agona East, a District in the Central Region.
Speaking in an interview on Peace FM News, Central Regional correspondent, Fiifi Davies, indicated that the rains which fell on Monday morning removed the roofing of some houses with others collapsing.
According to him, the downpour has left about 300 residents with no accommodation.
He also added that the District Chief Executive (DCE) in the district, Martin Luther Obeng as well as the district coordinator of the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO), Mr Francis Baidoo have already visited the area to see the extent of damage caused by the rain and to give residents some relief items.
Meanwhile, the DCE has requested for assistance from government as well as National and Regional division of NADMO for the victims who currently have nowhere to lay their heads.
