Alhaji Alhasan Abdulai, Executive Director of Eanfoworld for Sustainable Development, a non-governmental organization (NGO), on Monday called on religious bodies and political leaders to stop "using superstition and propaganda to interpret causes of disasters".
He said the use of scientific approach to explore ways of dealing with disasters was indispensable: �so let�s allow investigations into issues that require scientific approach�.
Alhaji Abdulai, who made the call in a statement, copied to the Ghana News Agency, expressed regret that although Ghanaians were largely religious; superstition and propaganda are mainly used to explain causes of disasters.
He observed that unfortunately, some religious leaders also attributed fire out break to God�s anger over Ghana for sins committed.
Alhaji Abdulai appealed to Ghanaians to carefully assess events in order to avoid accusing people wrongly.
He appealed for the resourcing of disaster management bodies with the relevant logistics and personnel to enable them to deliver their mandate.
