Mr. Frank Yaw Musa, the District Director of Education for Asante-Akim South, has warned that poor work ethics and absenteeism by teachers would not be accepted.
Offenders, he said, would face appropriate sanctions.
He was speaking after touring some schools in the area with the District Chief Executive (DCE), Mr De-graft Fokuo, to know at first hand the state of affairs, challenges, and how to effectively tackle them.
Among these were Dwendwenase, Koikrom and Tokwai-Odumase basic schools.
The Director was particularly not happy when on arrival at the Dwendwenase D/A Primary he saw that only one out of the 10 teachers in the school had reported.
At the Dwendwenase Presbyterian Primary, the teachers had gathered under a tree and were chatting as the pupils we left unattended to.
Mr Musa could not hide his disappointment and summoned the affected teachers to the district education office to explain why they should not be sanctioned.
