EVELYN SEKYI, a 21-year-old victim of a gas cylinder explosion at the Nyaniba Health Training School, a private nursing school in Tema, is dead.
The final-year Health Assistant Clinic (HAC) student, who hailed from Elmina near Cape Coast in the Central Region, died last Saturday at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra where she and two other colleagues were transferred to after their conditions worsened.
Evelyn�s body has been deposited at the Korle Bu Mortuary pending autopsy.
Six female nursing students of the aforementioned nursing school in Tema sustained varying degrees of injury when a gas cylinder being used at the school dormitory for cooking by some of the students exploded last Monday evening.
The students were quickly rushed to the Tema General Hospital with three students, namely Christiana Yawson, 25, Evelyn Sekyi, 21 and Mildred Baffour, 22, whose conditions were said to have worsened, being transferred to Korle Bu Teaching Hospital.
