Thursdays rain is believed to have created some chaotic conditions in some low-lying areas in Accra considering the volume of water that fell from the pregnant skies.
Report received indicates a taxi driver and his car have been swept away by the rains.
According to Yaa Serwaa, an eye-witness who broke the news to Peace FM, she first saw the said taxi parked in the rains but as the showers begun to intensify, she saw the car being submerged in the rains.
I kept an eagle eye on the car but within some few minutes, i no longer saw the vehicle. I believe the rains swept it into the big gutter the driver parked behind, she said.
The incident, according to her happened at Abeka Lapaz close to the Aryton Drug Factory.
Various parts of Accra were flooded in Thursdays perennial rains with reports indicating properties including buildings and vehicles being virtually submerged by the floods.
Greater Accra Regional Co-ordinator of NADMO Issues Directive
Meanwhile, the Greater Accra Regional Co-ordinator of the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO), Evans Anakwa has ordered all drivers plying dangerous routes to find safer places to park instead of driving in the rains.
Speaking in an interview with Peace FM, Mr Anakwa said all the NADMO zonal coordinators have been charged to go to disaster prone areas to salvage life and property likely to be affected by the rains.
