Man Fined For Rearing Cattle In Residential Area

A Tuobodom Magistrate�s Court in the Techiman North District, has fined a cattle dealer at Abousu GH₵ 240 or in default serve four months imprisonment in hard labour.

Sulemana Amako pleaded guilty.

Mr John Asamani, Assistant Environmental Health Officer of the Techiman Municipal Assembly told the court presided over by Mr Issah Abdul Wahab, that the convict was ordered to remove the cattle to the outskirts of the town but he refused.

He said it is illegal for any person to rear cattle in a residential area and any animal found astray should be impounded by the assembly to prevent environmental hazards and nuisance.
