A Kumasi based pastor has drowned in the River Tano.
Sources say the unidentified man had returned from his cocoa farm in Samreboi, a town at the confluence of the Samre and Tano rivers.
He then decided to wash himself in the river but never came out, according to an eyewitness.
Speaking to Adom News, Chief of Samreboi, Nana Ackah Andoh said the incident occurred on Thursday around 2:30 p.m.
He indicated that efforts made by some young men in the town to retrieve the body did not yield any results.
The search, Nana Ackah Andoh stated, was preceded by the performance of rituals by the priestess of the Tano River to ask the gods to return the body.
The pastor was accompanied to the farm by the relative who is a native of the town but is nowhere to be found.
"We have reported the matter to the police and they have begun investigations Nana Ackah Andoh added.
