Bishop Stephen Richard Bosomtwi Ayensu of the Obuasi Methodist church has strongly condemned the growing occurence of women getting pregnant before marriage.
Reacting to the growing incidence of unmarried women getting pregnant before marriage, Bishop Ayensu maintained that it was not biblical and a deviation from Christian teaching. No responsible man would impregante a woman before marrying her, he insisted.
According to him, a responsible man is the one who will marry a woman, take her to his home before procreating. And so I find it very appalling and disgusting to always see women getting pregnant for men without marriage. It is a shame he said on Adom News on Friday.
He urged pastors to turn away pregnant women who seek the church's blessing on their irresponsible behaviour until they do the right thing.
On her part, a traditional ruler, Nana Serwaa Bonsu, suggested that such women are forced to sleep with and become pregnant for the man out of poverty.
I think that women who get pregnant for a man before entering into marriage do so because of poverty and the frequent use of the social media. For me I dont support the act and so women should desist from it she warned.
