Preparations are currently underway to execute the next national sanitation day exercise which would be held in the Volta Region.
And to ensure it is executed perfectly, the deputy minister of Local Government and Rural Development, Mr. Emmanuel Agyekum, has called on the Paramount Chief of the Asogli State, Togbe Afedze XVI, for his support.
In the company of the Volta Regional Minister, Madam Helen Ntosu, the deputy minister visited Togbe Afedze XVI who is also the President of the Volta Regional House of Chiefs to officially inform him about the sanitation day scheduled.
Hon. Emmanuel Agyekum used the opportunity to seek support and endorsement from the chief.
In response to the petition placed before him, Togbe Afedze XVI declared his support for the event and called on all the chiefs and people of the region to fully participate when the event is up.
Hon. Emmanuel Agyekum thanked the entire region for hosting the sanitation day and called on residents to support President Mahama’s initiative for a clean Ghana.
