A 49-year-old man has been arrested by the Ashanti regional police command for defrauding nine unsuspecting victims of over GH¢65,000.
According to PEACE FM correspondent in Kumasi, Isaac Owusu, the man known as Kwaku Badu, allegedly enters the banking hall and pretends to be a banker. When he realises that a customer is depositing a huge sum of money, he will offer to deposit it on their behalf to make the transaction fast and easy.
When he collects the money, he elopes and goes to another bank.
Luck however eluded him on Friday when he tried to dupe another victim at Unibank, Suame branch.
According to DSP Aba Afari, the Crime Officer of the Kumasi Central Police Division, Kweku Badu who has been on the police wanted list for a very long time was arrested after they got hold of the bank's (Unibank) CCTV camera; following another report made by a victim on Friday, 20th March, 2015.
