Commuters Who ply the Pokuase-Amasaman to Kwame Nkrumah Circle road are bitter about the stress they go through in getting commercial vehicles to and fro their homes, schools and work places.
Observers have it that, the ongoing construction at the Kwame Nkrumah Circle has limited the space passengers have to board cars to their respective destinations and such developments have created discomfort in the area.
Expressing their sentiments to the Daily Heritage, they said, most of them get stranded for hours in the area while waiting for a vehicle home.
“I’m a trader, and the only parent of two. I always leave home at 6:00am after I have left the children with their teachers in school, but, I get home at 8:00pm almost every day and so we eat very late at night.
“Some of us who cannot withstand the pressure here are forced to go with taxis, but the fair is what we cannot pay, so we stay for as long as we can to get a car home.”
Some of them said, they get home sometimes with injuries and pains all over their bodies due to the struggle they go through to board vehicles.
“We are sometimes pushed and hit by other struggling passengers, and by the time you get home, you have body pains.” A passenger confessed.
The paper also observed that indiscipline has become the order of the day as some drivers charge exorbitant fares, as well as overload their vehicles.
“We, therefore, call on the transport services to put down measures to help mitigate the trouble which passengers go through within the said confinement.”
