Youth for Peace and Security-Africa, a non-governmental organisation (NGO), on Tuesday appealed to President John Dramani Mahama to restore the peace process between the people of Alavanyo and Nkonya.
Mr Abraham Korbla Klutsey, Executive Director the Organisation, called on government to ensure that the two parties resume negotiations.
He also pleaded with the Government to provide the people of the two towns with the needed security.
Mr Klutsey, who was speaking at a news conference in Accra, said there is the need to restore peace to the two towns who have not known peace since 1923.
He said the situation has hugely affected the quality of education the children receive as well as health services, proliferation of small arms as well as diversion of developmental funds into peace keeping operations.
He said the situation called for an innovative and proactive campaign which would create an enabling environment for engagement with the people active in peacekeeping and prevention of crimes.
