Waterheath Ghana Donates Towards Homowo Celebrations

Management of WaterHealth Ghana on Thursday 27th September 2015 made donations to the chiefs and people of Ablekuma in the Ga Central District and Nsakina in the Ga West District towards the celebrations of the annual Homowo festival. The company presented assorted items worth over GHC3,000 to each of the traditional council.

The items received by each traditional council included a cash amount, 1,000 litres of Dr Water, 10 crates of Coca Cola, 2 bags of rice, a gallon cooking oil, WaterHealth branded t-shirts and other souvenirs. Making the presentation, the Vice President & Business Head for WaterHealth, West Africa, Mr. Ekow Blankson, thanked both communities for their support in ensuring Water Health achieves its vision to provide millions of Ghanaians living in several communities across the country with safe and purified drinking water at the most affordable price.

“The main goal of WaterHealth is to serve about hundred (100) million customers in underserved communities by 2020 with our brand, Dr. Water, which is currently the only community water play in the world. We are happy to be operation in thirty communities and the moment. Our association with the people of Ablekuma, Nsakina and other communities has been amazing.

We are happy to be supporting you with these items as you celebrate the annual Homowo festival. We will not relent in our efforts to ensure we meet our target as you have reiterated your continued support at all times”, Mr. Blankson added.

On his part, the Chief of Ablekuma, Nii Larbie Mensah IV, thanked the management of WaterHealth Ghana for their benevolence and also for installing and operating a WaterHealth Center in Ablekuma and twenty nine (29) other communities across the country. He took the opportunity to invite the staff and members of the company to join them in the celebrations.

Nii Lantey Okunka II, the Chief of Nsakina expressed his gratitude to WaterHealth Ghana for the gesture and commended them for their initiative to ensure inhabitants of Nsakina and the rest of Ghana are provided with potable drinking water to prevent them from getting infected with diseases.

He further lamented on the bad nature of their road network and appealed to the government and other corporate entities to come to their aid. WaterHealth Ghana is a wholly owned subsidiary of WalterHealth International in partnership with local assemblies and communities though a Public Private Partnership model.

Established in 2007 to provide safe, scalable and affordable drinking water to underserved communities, the company has successfully installed and now operating over thirty (30) WaterHealth Centers across seven (7) regions in the country.
