Two out of the four suspects who escaped from the Zuarungu Police cell in the Upper East Region, have been rearrested.
They were all in Police custody for narcotic offences and stealing in Zuarungu but managed to escape last Sunday.
They managed to escape after removing some of the cement blocks in the cracked walls of the cell.
This was confirmed to Citi News by the Upper East Regional Police Commander, DCOP Simon Yao Afeku, who gave their names as James Abeto (24 years) and Baba Adombire (16 years).
He said they will process them before court soon.
The two escapees who until their recapture were being harbored by Mrs. Ama Anaba and Mr. Joshua Ayamga to help them escape to Burkina Faso, are also in the grips of the Police and will be processed before court.
Mr. Afeku reiterated that the Police will do everything it can to re-arrest the remaining two, who are still at large and appealed to the general public to support the Police with information for their re-arrest.
Meanwhile Police officers on duty at the time of the cell-break have been given ten days to recapture the remaining two.
