Government on Friday urged residents of Accra and all parts of the country to call emergency number 112 in-case of flooding or other dangers for assistance.
Government has directed all emergency services providers to be on the alert to respond swiftly to any distress call that may emerge and monitor the situation and respond accordingly whilst appealing to residents to take note of the persistent downpour throughout last night and early parts of the day.
A government statement signed by Dr Edward K. Omane Boamah, the Minister of Communications and copied to the Ghana News Agency appealed to residents to stay away from open drains and move to higher grounds if they live in low lying areas.
