Adamu Asumah 35, the suspect arrested in Tamale over the weekend for allegedly kidnapping a member of Tiger Eye PI investigation team has been remanded into police custody by a Tamale Circuit Court.
Ismael Hussein was reportedly abducted on Saturday by unknown group.
The court presided by Justice Twumasi Appiah denied the suspect plea of not guilty and charged him formally with kidnapping and assault.
He is to reappear on the 19 October, 2015.
According to the Police Public Relations Officer. ASP Ebenezer Tetteh, police had information that a member of the Tiger Eye PI, the investigation team that uncovered alleged massive graft at the country judicial department, was held hostage at a shop around a place called 'filling point'.
He said police acted swiftly and rescued Ismael Hussein unharmed.
Eben Tetteh added the suspect did not tell the court the motive behind their act but believed it will be unravel as court investigations continue.
He however refused to divulge the whereabout of the victim; Ismail Hussein citing 'security reasons' except to say he is at a safe location.
