Thirty-five-year-old Adamu Asumah, who was arrested by the police for allegedly masterminding the kidnapping of Ishmael Hussein of Tiger Eye PI – the investigative company owned by Anas Aremeyaw Anas – in Tamale, has been granted court enquiry bail by the Tamale circuit court presided over by Twumasi Appiah.
Adamu Asumah was mobbed at the court by his family and friends when they were told that he had been granted bail.
The Northern Regional Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Ebenezer Tetteh, told DAILY GUIDE that the accused was granted court enquiry bail with two sureties on condition that one of the sureties should be a public officer earning salary not less than GH¢1,000.
According to ASP Ebenezer Tetteh, the police would continue to be mute about the whereabouts of Ishmael Hussein because there is the need to protect his identity. He added however, that whenever Hussein was needed in court to give evidence, he would be produced.
Adamu Asumah has been charged for kidnapping and assault and is to reappear on November 2, 2015.
It will be recall that Asumah, who was arrested by the police a week ago in Tamale for allegedly masterminding the kidnapping of Ishmael Hussein, appeared before the Tamale circuit court and was remanded into police custody.
ASP Ebenezer Tetteh told DAILY GUIDE the accused person’s plea was not taken, but his lawyer succeeded in convincing the court to grant his client bail.
