The East Dadekotopon Development Trust (EDDT)has issued a public notice to warn the general public about some fraudulent persons and syndicates going round collecting huge sums of money from innocent and unsuspecting persons with the pretext to grant them parcels of land behind the Ghana International Trade Fair Center (GITFC)which belongs to the East Dadekotopon Development Trust.

The fraudsters are reported to be telling people that the EDDT is no longer in existence as the Supreme Court of             Ghana has declared that Trust has ceased to exist and no longer owns those lands.

EDDT acting through it’s solicitors stated in their note of caution that the public be notified that the Dadekotopon Trust is still the lawful owner of the vast tract of land situate behind the GITFC as covered by a valid Land Certificate No. GA 19310 issued by the Land Title Registry on 2nd October, 20034.

The solicitors also stated that the said lands became EDDT’s by virtue of a consent judgment of an Accra High Court given as far back as 12th July, 2001 in suit no.L353/97 between Nii Kpobi Tettey Tsuru III(La Mantse) vrs Nii Adjei Boahen II (Nmati Abonase Mantse) Nii Odoi Tsuru II (Lenshie Mantse) and others. The said consent judgment remains valid and in force and no court has set it aside.

Again, the solicitors stressed that the general public is therefore warned that any person or persons who recklessly or negligently pays any money to any fraudster in respect of the EDDT lands without any or proper due diligence do so at their own risk. They also indicated that the EDDT wields an order from the High Court to demolish all unauthorized and illegal structures on its land.

They hinted that they are also in possession of a list of persons including some public servants and members of security services who for personal benefits are colluding with and aiding the said fraudsters in their nefarious activities and the trust will be publishing their names soon in the national dailies for the benefit of the general public.
