Voltic (GH) Limited Gives Facelift To Meyah School At Medie

Ghana’s leading producer of bottled natural mineral water, Voltic (GH) Limited (Voltic), has inaugurated a kitchen space, a reading area and an office for the Meyah Preparatory School at a cost of GHC 45,000.

Located at Medie in the Ga West Municipality of the Greater Accra Region, the school for several years has been a beneficiary of various corporate social investment initiatives of Voltic.  In 2012, Voltic constructed a mechanized borehole with a storage tank for the school.

This current initiative is aimed at improving on the teaching and learning facilities at the school for which the community will also benefit.

The project which commenced in December 2015 is in fulfillment of company’s aim to support the provision of social amenities within areas where it operates.  Voltic has a manufacturing plant at Medie.

The Meyah Preparatory School was established in 2004 after the Principal, Moses Emerson, retired from the military in 2000 and relocated to Medie.  He identified the need to set up a school to provide quality educational support to a growing number of children of settler famers.  

The school has a population of over 200 from crèche through to Junior High School form one

Speaking at the handing over ceremony, Voltic’s General Manager Phil Redman noted that a conducive environment replete with adequate amenities is pivotal in the delivery of quality basic education.

He said the company’s decision to support the school was based on a need assessment, which he indicated was carried out by the company to so that the required assistance could be provided.

“Voltic is passionate about supporting basic education and promoting good health.  Supporting the Meyah Preparatory School with a kitchen space, reading area and an office, demonstrates our passion for quality education in a healthy environment”, he affirmed.

The Proprietor of the school, Moses Agbodra commended Voltic (GH) for their immense support to the school, adding that, the amenities provided would go a long way to improve upon the quality of basic education delivery in the community. 

“We will put the facilities to good use and ensure proper maintenance,” he promised.  He also used the occasion to request for more support for the school and called upon other organisations to emulate the kind gesture demonstrated by Voltic (GH) Limited.

Voltic (GH) Limited has been operating at Medie since 1995 when the company was established.  Over the years a number of Voltic has executed a number of corporate social investment activities in the community.  The most recent being the construction of a culvert with bridge in July 2015 at a cost of  GHC40, 000.
