Chief Executive of Pattymod company, Mohammed Rai has paid an amount of $30,000 to Anton Ushinsky, Director of Yoo!Mart. Mr. Rai paid the money to clear his name which was being linked to an alleged fraud case.
There were reports making rounds in the media that Mr. Rai has allegedly defrauded Mr. Ushinsky of $30,000, which was for the purchase of Two Toyota vehicles and was therefore being chased by the police.
However, Mr. Rai told the media that he has not defrauded anybody as being reported, explaining that he was rather set up in a car deal he was fronting for a company (name withheld).
He said “After fronting and getting the money for the company he was representing, the company failed to deliver the vehicles to Mr. Ushinsky per the agreement. And because I fronted for that deal; Mr. Ushinsky accused me wrongly of defrauding him and reported the matter to the police, demanding his money. So I decided to refund the money to Mr. Ushinsky to save my name and reputation”.
Mr. Rai has however called for media and police investigation into the matter to ascertain the real culprit, stating that he is ready to avail himself for any investigations as well.
Meanwhile, Mr. Ushinsky in a letter to the Director-General, CID Police Headquarters confirmed that Mr. Rai had refunded the said money to him.
Mr. Ushinsky has subsequently called for the withdrawal of the case.
In a petition Mr. Ushinsky said “We would like to withdraw the case against Mohammed Rai which started May 24, 2016. This is because the money taken was refunded on his behalf to us on September 9, 2016”.
