The Secretary General of the Trades Union Congress (TUC), Dr Anthony Yaw Baah, has praised the 2016 presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, for the maturity he displayed in preserving Ghana’s peace, in the aftermath of the disputed 2012 presidential election.
Dr Yaw Baah recounted the visit to the TUC by the NPP presidential candidate in 2013, to elicit their opinions about his decision to challenge the results of the 2012 election in court.
According to the TUC boss, “that singular action you took helped to keep the peace that we are enjoying today. We commend you for that,” stressing that “what was even more remarkable was the maturity you demonstrated after the Supreme Court verdict in August 2013.”
Dr Yaw Baah heaped the praises on the NPP flag bearer at a meeting between the TUC and Nana Akufo-Addo, when the latter paid a courtesy call on the workers’ union at its headquarters on Monday, October 31, 2016.
According to the TUC boss, even though the country faces a myriad of problems, there are still some positives worth celebrating.
“One thing we have which we all cherish is the peace we are enjoying, and that is why Nana’s acceptance of the Supreme Court verdict in 2012 was extremely significant. We have witnessed politicians in other countries who have caused chaos,” he said.
The visit by the NPP to the TUC to outline his solutions to the problems facing the country, in the view of Dr. Baah, “is an indication of the respect you (Akufo-Addo) have for the TUC and the recognition of the contribution of working people of Ghana to the development of our dear country.”

People like Dr Yaw Baah must stop openly campaigning for Nana Addo and the NPP. He should know that it is our monthly dues that is used to pay him.
You guys continue to massage this man's ego. What could have done? Not to accept? He could have done that within the confines of the law. He could have asked for the SC to review its judgement. Such pronouncements would rather strengthened other politicians hands not to accept decisions by the court. When one goes to court, you either win or lose. If you lose a case you appeal up to the level of the SC.
We shall vote massively for nana addo to b prez this december. He will do a better job of fixing our economy than a dead goooaaatt
This is absolute thrash. Safe Ghana from what?
Thus this full ish praise connotes Nana Addo had every power to turn this country into abyss ? He should have dared in one attempt. His stiippid Akyem ego which he thought overrides everyone and everything in Ghana made him feel he could do or say anything he pleases. It pains me he couldn't make any attempt; he and his immediate family would have been the first casualties. Those block - headed people who praise him for saving this country are themselves as use less as anything. We are not going to pamper him like a toddler drinking "Kalyppo" The Presidential seat is not an inheritance from the Akyem Stool. The security agencies will be ready for him this time if he doesn't win the elections and feels he can cause any uproar in this country. Ghana has never known peace since this "Kalyppo" suckling man entered the presidential race in 2008. His first attempt to torpedo the elections was crushed by Tony Lithur and others when he and his cohorts secretly filed an injunction on the Tain elections in 2008. As if not satisfied he held this country to ransom for 8 months in 2013 again in his attempt to shortchange Ghanaians with his "Pinksheets". A war monger, a nation wrecker, a traitor, a rebel leader, a confusionist, a bad leader and a sadistic person. Not this time round. This Man.
Why are people behaving as if akuffo addo did the country some favoour by accepting the verdict of the supreme court ruling. Statement like this will make akuffo addo think the presidency is is birth right. The presidency is not his family stool that he has to ascend it at all cost. Was he going to start a war or what. You are heading a responsible organization and mind your comment on political issues.
