Dr Lawrence Tetteh, a renowned International Evangelist, on Thursday, led the Electoral Commission (EC) staff in a thanksgiving service; to express gratitude to God for the peaceful and successful conduct of the 2016 general election.
The colourful event was attended by Mrs Charlotte Osei, the ElectoralCommission Chairperson; Ms Georgian Opoku Amankwah, Deputy Chairperson, Mrs Rebecca Kabukie Adjalo, a Member of the Commission and Mr Samuel Tetteh, Director of Electoral Services of the EC.
The congregation, adorned in white attire, sang and danced to the glory of God for His graciousness towards the nation.
Dr Tetteh in his homily, urged Ghanaians to be grateful to God for the peaceful election; adding that it was by grace that Ghana remained the beacon of hope for Africa.
“It is better for one party to lose than for Ghana to be at war. Today, everybody is singing onaapo. Thank God that He made a way, where there seems to be no way,” he said.
Dr Tetteh explained that to be able to excel in life, one should have a heart full of gratitude to God and should never forget of one’s humble beginning.
“Don’t forget of your God and friends, who might have helped you,” Dr Tetteh, who is also the President of the Worldwide Miracle Outreach Ministry stated.
Dr Tetteh offered prayers for President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and his team of ministers and the leadership of the various political parties.
He also prayed for Mrs Osei and her team of staff, and former Presidents Jerry John Rawlings, John Agyekum Kufuor, and John Dramani Mahama.
It would be recalled that before the 2016 general election, Dr Tetteh led the EC staff to pray for peaceful election.
Mrs Osei expressed gratitude to God for ensuring a peaceful and successful general election; stating that “We thank God for everything”.
She praised her team and staff for their sacrifices and hard work, which had enabled the Commission to chalk so many successes over the years in the conduct of elections.

It is surprising that someone is contesting the existence of God. Lord have mercy. The EC did well in the just ended elections. The EC also failed to pay some of its staff who worked during the elections. Why this?
THERE WAS CONFUSION IN DECLARING 2016 ELECTION RESULTS. EVERYBODY IN GHANA AND BEYOND IS AWARE OF THE CHAOS THAT HAPPENED AT THE CE. WE THANK GOD NPP OUTWITTED BOTH NDC AND EC TO SILENCE THEM IN THEIR REACTION TO NPP. IN FACT THE ELECTION WAS DECLARED BY HARD WORKING GHANAIANS ACROSS THE NATION WHO WORKED FOR THE MEDIA AND NPP. SINCE THE RESULT WAS IRREFUTABLE GHANAIANS HAVE SWEPT UNDER CARPET THE MESS OF EC. MY DEAR FELLOW GHANAIANS WE CANNOT BUILD OUR NATION ON SUCH GROSS NEGLIGENCE AND INCOHERENCE. THE EC AND THE RESPONSIBLE ORGANIZATIONS SHOULD EXPLAIN TO GHANAIAN WHAT ACTUALLY HAPPEN AND HOW WE THE WORK TO AVOID SUCH MISHAP. ANOTHER MATTER THAT WE WANT TO KNOW IS THE ALLEGATION OF FORMER PRESIDENT MAHAMA BRIBERY OF BUGRI NAABU. THE MATTER MUST BE INVESTIGATED TO UNEARTH THE TRUTH ABOUT THE WHOLE SAGA.
Why does a pastor in the name of Pastor Tetteh wish to play politics with our voting and what has the EC 's performance got to do with thanking God for a whole staff of the EC ; the EC and colleagues are paid to do a job and everybody knows the EC was in the process of manipulating the elections for Jon Mahama and the NDC but Nana Addo and the NPP were smart and blocked all the devious avenues Mrs Osei had no alternative but to submit to running the elections for Ghana and not for Jon Mahama ; to me this prayer was an NDC inspired prayer session ; this dirty Pastor Tetteh is always nosing around to express his political ideas to attract political attention ;clasims to be an economist but was unable to help or help the NDC and Jon Mahama but rather stood aloof whilst these Kriminal thiffs stole our monies ; he is an NDC member who always promotes the ideals of the NDC of stilling and corruption ; do you remember when he prayed for Ghana Airways when everybody knew Ghana Airways will collaspse ; has this stooooopid pastor forgotton what he said about Nana ADDO and the NPP ; the same with this other NDC pastor Duncan -Williams who prayed for the cedi to rise ;WHAT A FULL and a idiotic donkey!!!!!! ; WHAT IS WRONMG WITH THESE KRIMINAL PASTORS who always think they are assured a place in heaven so can say anything they like in Ghana .
If it is a god that ensurea a peaceful election, why were we campaigning fot peace and putting all the necessary measures in place to ensure peace? There is no god any where and we must congratulate ourselves. Black people lets start thinking ooooo ton!! If we had not done any of the things we had to do to ensure peace, there would have been war! It has nothing to do with a god or whatever. If there had been war, would you have blamed this imaginary god you speak of? Lets think!
