In March this year, I saw a story in the The Weekend Today newspaper that said Zoomlion was to partner the Zongo and Inner Cities ministry to clear filth.
I called the sector Minister, Abubakar Sadique Boniface, and told him that I had seen the article but I wanted to provide him with some information before he went on to engage in any contractual arrangement with Zoomlion, if that was his intention. We agreed to meet and discuss the matter. Since that day, all attempts to reach him have failed.
I am not saying he has done something wrong, but whoever is close to him should just alert him that it will be scandalous if he should use the meagre budget to sign any sanitation contract with Zoomlion or any of its subsidiaries. Zoomlion has multiple contracts with all the Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies in Ghana. The Zongos and inner cities are covered by these contracts so he should not sign further contracts. It will amount to duplication and wilfully causing financial loss to the state.
If he needs to spend in the area of sanitation, he should go to his own constituency, Madina, and ask the municipal assembly how they are managing waste there and he will agree with me. It will be better to invest the money on the young men in the Zongos who use the tricycles (borla taxis) to help cart waste from the communities. When the state allocates money in the name of Zongos and inner cities, the money should stay there. It should not be channelled to East Legon or Cantonments or Dzorwulu. We should not see the Sad SADA Story in any form in this government.
Note once again that I am not accusing him of any wrongdoing. As a citizen who cares about the development of the country, I'm only giving information to my minister of state and cautioning him against possible pitfalls.

Dear All, How much are you people aware of what's the truth. Empty containers make noise the most. Don't do that pls. It's advisable for you all to know a few facts. There was no flood in ghana last year although rain was more then 2015. After loosing more than 200 pol.dredgemasters have been dredging continuously. Without being paid by any of the government. Company has been working for welfare too. Signing contract and spending money from your own pocket for 4 years is not an easy task. For a government which is drowned in heavy debt not because of companies like zoomlion but because of wrong way of they operate . A country so flourishing they we import every small thing from somewhere in the world. Instead of pulling a few ppl who are working I request we concentrate on few good initiatives started by the new government like one district and one factory. All you ppl above I m aware have enough money to start a small self sustainable factory. Try invest your money into such project where u will not be paid for next 5 years. Then come and say all this good words on such platform. Rise up to Raise Ghana
MANASSEH YOU ARE A YOUNG JOURNALIST AND THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH WHAT YOU ARE DOJNG BECAUSE WE KNOW THAT ALMOST ALL JOURNALIST IN GHANA HAS ONE OR TWO OR EVEN MORE CONAPNIES, INDIVIDUALS , INSTITUTIONS, ON THEIR ACCOUNT WHOM THEY ARE DOING PRIVATE PRO JOBS FOR! BUT I FIND YOUR STYLE VERY DANGEROUS, CORRUPT, AND CAN CAUSE LOTS OF TROUBLE IN THE NATION! YOU HAVE ADDED AGRESSIVE BLACK MAIL INTO YOUR ASSERNAL OF FORCING YOUR SELF ON CLIENTS! YOU GO WITH NO HOLDS BARRED METHOD OF FORCING YOUR TARGETED CLINTS INTO SUBMITION! AND DO NOT TRY TO DENY IT! MANY JOURNALIST GET CLIENTS BY SUBTLE BLACKMAIL, MANY OF THE SPORT JOURNALISTS DO THIS TO THE GFA AND SPORTS PERSONALITIES! BUT YOURS IS BOTHERING ON CRIMINALITIES! YOU CAN SAY YOUNARE DOING YOUR JOBS , BUT SO WILL OTHER JOURNALISTS; YOU GO AT THE RISK OF LIBEL AT YOUR TARGETED VICTIMS AND FORCE THEM I TO CLIENTELLES! THAT IS WHAT YOU ARE DOING TO THE EXTENT OF OPENELY SHOWING HATRED AGAINST THE ZOOM LION , AND I HAVE NOTHING WITH OR AGAINST ZOOM LION , BUT YOUR METHOD IS DISGUSTING!!
our politicians have helped 'SMART' businesses people to dupe this country. zoomlion takes money from every district to clean and keep towns and cities clean but they have woefully failed to keep that promise. now the same company under a different name want to once again reap where they have not sown and our parliamentarian who zoomlion has failed to clean their constituency have approved this bogus law for every thing that uses fuel to move on our streets to be levied. what sort of lazy society are we creating. i felt dead sick listening to that man justifying why we should pay. our politicians have helped in creating the impression that Ghanaian are ***barred word*** in the mind of those in businesses so they cook and rubbish they want and expect us to eat it. what is wrong with our MPs? our MPs should know that they are creating a big problem for this country in the near future.. they should know that the ordinary citizen has risen up againts incompetent governments and legislators in other parts of the country in recent times. our MPs are sowing the same seeds that led to demonstrations in those countries here. they should sit up. why give zoomlion such a room to do what they please? why give they such a contract for the whole country. those of you in the media, please dont let them force this down our throat. the same thing happened a few years ago. we woke up to a huge jump in car insurance premium. the only people who benefited are the insurance company. what is this??
MANASSEH PLEASE YOU ARE RIGHT.THE GOVERNMENT SHOULD LISTEN OOH.ZOOMLION IS ONE THE COMPANIES THAT BROUGHT NDC GOVERNMENT DOWN.
You are right oo Manasseh, but will the politicians listen? when the NDC came to power in 2009, I thought they were going to investigate the contracts zoomlion had under NPP and see if they could save us some money. But thecontinued and signed new contracts and ventured in to new areas like Subah info and YEA. Now this Agyapong man is richer than Ghana and the politicians will now follow him with the view of also enriching themselves but its our country that will suffer. Please leave them and hope that GOD will save this country from politicians.
Manasseh please you are right. The zoomlion man is so corrupt that if akufo addo"s government go into any contract with them i will be disappointed. Already Dredge Master"s are there but i think the contract was signed by the previous shameful government led by the ***barred word***. Please Mr. President beware.
