Celebrated lawyer, Tony Lithur, wants to divorce his lovely wife, Nana Oye Lithur, according to explosive court documents.
A petition filed by lawyer for Tony Lithur at the High Court ( Divorce and Matrimonial Division) said, “That you are required within 8 days after service hereof upon you. Inclusive of the day service to enter on appearance either in person or by solicitor at the Divorce Registry of the High Court, Accra in the Greater Accra Region of the Republic of Ghana should you think fit to do so and thereafter to answer this petition and that in default of your so doing, the Court will proceed to hear the petition and pronounce judgement your absence notwithstanding.”
Strangely, Mr Lithur cites “cruel and violent traits” of his wife as one of the main reasons for ending their 20-year old marriage .
“When the parties settled down to marriage, petitioner began to notice some unnerving character traits of the Respondent. While petitioner was aware Respondent was aggressive in approach to many things, nothing prepared him for what he later discovered of cruel and instinctively violent traits. She consistently exhibited physical violence and cruelty against every person that has ever lived with the parties, either as household staff or relative,” the petition said.
Mr Lithur further used harsh words on his wife, who is a well-known politician and gender activist

Big brother Tony, I know it is easy for you at this very moment but will encourage you have a sober reflection on this issue. First of all taking into consideration your lovely children and please kindly show them the needed love now. Secondly, I know as the issue has come to the public domain your wife has even regretted of her actions. Giving her the second chance will make the marriage better than before. However, the decision is in your own hands, God be your helper.
Tony Lithur is wicked for leaving his wife at this stage in their life. If she's wicked like he's insinuating, why didn't he leave earlier? For this wickedness, I don't think that God will let him free.Oye Lithur must draw closer to God and spend more of her time and intellect working for Him.
The devil you know is better than the angel you don't know.
My brother you better leave this relationship if you know you are suffering if not you will die early. Even Bishops and pastors are moving on. Think twice nothing should stop you.
Tonny is jealous and ***barred word*** of his own wife. Men I Ghana fear successful women and so will do anything to bring her down forgetting that such attitude will affect the children most. Pray to God to forgive you because I know for sure that you children will never ever forgive you for this shame that you have brought upon them . As a man you could have left your wife without seeking for divorce for it to link.
easy to critisize. all i will say marriage is not easy. may God help you. that's all
At Legon/Law School(1986-91), she was a beauty.I fell for her.LOL.
Fat F*c-k£r
A couple with kids and who have been married for 27 years are having a bad time and people are urging them on and heaping insults on this woman. It is very sad. Relationship can be very complex. Please Tony and Oye desist from further comments and press releases in the media. Mistakes can be made but give each other another chance. If possible, the two of you should get away for a month or two and work on your differences.Shame all your enemies.
Oh no. Hmm
