Mrs Inger Ultredt, the Sweden Ambassador to Ghana says renewable energy is safe, cost-effective and environmentally friendly for developing countries in their power generation.
She encouraged countries to venture into renewable energy technology such as; tidal wave energy production, which she said was originated from Sweden.
Mrs Inger Ultredt made the remark when she paid a day’s working visit to Ada Foah, in the Greater Accra Region, to ascertain the progress of work on a tidal wave energy production project being undertaken by a Sweden-based company, SEABASE.
Mr Anthony Poku, the Chief Executive Officer of Tc’s Energy, the implementers of the tidal wave energy production in Ghana and his team of technocrats conducted the Ambassador and her entourage round the switch gear room, the vessel and crane which deplore tidal wave under the sea for the production of the energy.
He said the implementation of the tidal wave energy would supplement the power supply sector of the country and that all technical planning, drawings, erection of sub-station for the evacuation of power and administrative work had been completed.
