Former President John Dramani Mahama has joined many mourners to pay tribute to the late Member of Parliament for Ayawaso West Wuogon Constituency, Emmanuel Kyeremanteng Agyarko.
The MP died on Wednesday, November 21 in the United States after a protracted illness.
According to his family, he died of gallbladder cancer.
In a statement released by his Special Aide on Thursday, Mr Mahama said he received the news “with great shock”.
He said the tributes being paid to the late lawmaker accurately reflect the kind of person he was.
“Politics may divide us on ideological lines and during debates and arguments, but Emmanuel Agyarko’s personality and his conduct even in the political space, always exemplified the gentleman that he was.”
On behalf of his wife, Mr Mahama expressed condolences to the widow, children, family and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for the loss.
