The thirty-five Kintampo crash victims who were incinerated when the bus they were travelling on got burnt during Friday’s ghastly accident at Amoma Nkwanta in the Kintampo South District of the Bono East Region, were given a mass burial on Saturday, 23 March 2019 at Jema.
The 35 were burnt beyond recognition.
They were among 57 people who perished in the crash around 2 a.m. in a head-on collision between two buses.
The other bodies, which can be identified, would be given to their families for burial.
Fifty-three survivors of the crash are in the hospital.
Kintampo South District Chief Executive, Alexander Gyan and his Garu-Tempane colleague, Emmanuel Asore Avoka, met to decide on the mass burial. The two buses were from their jurisdictions.
The bodies of 20 others who also perished in the accident will be given to their families after the necessary identification has been done.
