Rebecca Quayson, an elder sister to one of the three kidnapped girls in Takoradi, claims the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) Boss, COP Maame Yaa Tiwaa Addo-Danquah has asked them to stop granting interviews to the media concerning the case.
According to her, the CID Boss reportedly spoke angrily during a telephone conversation with her mother warning them to cease speaking to the press. Thereafter, the latter, in compliance, asked her (Rebecca Quayson) to stop granting interviews to radio and television stations.
". . but after waiting for a while without any positive response as to the whereabout of the girls, I can’t keep quiet anymore. We need to know where they are because they (CID) claim they know where the girls are but can't give us any assurance," she told Peace FM.
Rebecca further indicated that the families of the three kidnapped girls will come to Accra on Tuesday, 2nd May, 2019 to inquire from the CID Boss what exactly is going on since "after her press conference, we have not seen the girls nor heard anything positive; no one is telling us anything."
She spoke to Nana Yaw Kesseh, sit-in host of Peace FM's morning show 'Kokrokoo', Tuesday.
Background
It has been almost nine months since three girls from Diabene, a town in Sekondi-Takoradi, went missing.
The first victim, Priscilla Blessing Bentum, 21, a third-year student of the University of Education, Winneba, was reported missing by her parents in August.
On December 4, 2018, the second girl, Ruth Love Quayson,18, a Senior High School graduate, was also reported missing.
The third, Priscilla Mantebea Koranchie, 16-year-old student of Sekondi College (SEKCO), was also reported missing on December 21,2018.
The missing girls were later confirmed to have been kidnapped after their kidnapper demanded ransom.
A Nigerian, Samuel Udoetuk Wills, 28, who was arrested as a prime suspect, is still in custody.
At a press conference in Accra, the Director General of CID, COP Maame Yaa Tiwaa Addo-Danquah announced that the police had identified the location of the missing girls.

The height of professionalism. The police woman has forgotten that she is our employee and that she is serving us. it is only in Ghana that we bow to political appointees and we allow them to treat us anyhow. In serious countries, citizens ask critical questions and public servants do not look down on them. Folks, lets be serious as citizens in the country.
Rebecca dont mind that incompetent and political dog CID lady. continue to press for the state institution to sit up and justify the salaries they enjoy. but then i will advice u dont rely on the police service, they dont care what happen to her. organise yourselves n do the investigation though you could engage PI. Gudlak
