IN MY TRADITIONAL AREA CHILDREN ARE THE SYMBOL OF FUTURE CONTINUITY OF THE GENEALOGICAL TREE WHO MUST INHERIT THE MAN'S (FATHER'S) PROPERTY. WHERE A MAN IS THEREFORE UNABLE TO PRODUCE (GIVE BIRTH TO) A CHILD AND MOST PREFERRABLY A MALE CHILD BECAUSE THE WIFE IS BARREN (INFERTILE) THEN IT IS PRESUMED THAT THE GENEALOGICAL TREE THAT IS TO REPLACE OR CONTINUE THE MAN'S LINE WOULD COME TO AN END WHEN THAT MAN DIES. SO YOU SEE WHY IT IS NOT EASY FOR A TRADITIONAL MAN TO EXIST OR LIVE WITH A BARREN (INFERTILE) WOMAN! SO UNDER THE CIRCUMSTANCE, TRADITION AND MODERNITY, WHICH ONE TAKES THE LEAD?
