Melinda Gates has warned that there will be dead bodies littering the streets in African countries if the world does not act fast to curb the spread of Coronavirus.
Ms Gates said this while speaking to CNN, on the novel Coronavirus and its effects in the third world countries.
She said she is worried for Africa and fears that the continent might not be able to handle the devastating effect of COVID-19.
"Its going to be horrible in the developing world," she warned.
“Part of the reasons you are seeing the case numbers still do not look very bad, is because they don’t have access to many tests.
“Look at what is happening in Ecuador, they are putting bodies out on the streets, you are going to see that in countries in Africa,” Mrs Gates noted.
Melinda Gates, who is also co-chair of the Bill and Melinda Gates foundation, fears things will get worst for Africa once cases peak because of poor health care systems and lack of humanitarian supports.
According to Ms Gates, her worst nightmare was when she “saw what China had to do to isolate enormous part of its population. My first thought was Africa. How in the world are they going to deal with this.”
“I have been in townships all over Africa and slums. When we talk in country physical distancing and hand-washing, if you live in slums who can’t physical distance, you have to go out and get your meals. You don’t have clean water to wash your hands,” she added.

Now miss Bill you see where it has turn to? it was Europeans N Americans not Africans .God will surely save us
She has o be arrested and dealt with. She knows what they are doing to bring that about.
I hope kojo oppong nkrumah is listening. He should stop hiding information about government officials who has it, so that those of us who might have contacted them but are not aware they have the virus can also go and test and save ourselves from future complications. This is not a disease that anyone should hide information about it. If you have it, you tell people you have met, so they can also tell their stories and the list goes on. This is one way to easily contact trace, while we keep using other measures to fight the disease. Nana addo should also stop the too much brofo and speak some twi for the illiterates to understand him very well. Boris Johnson and Trump are not speaking twi in their countries to address COVID 19 issues.
The bible says the prudent man foresees evil and prepares himself but the simple ignores evil and is eventually punish. The woman is not saying anything extraordinarily evil, all she is saying is that, considering how developed countries are struggling with the disease, if Africa which is largely underdeveloped don't take action as quickly as possible and allow the sickness to get out of hand, the ***barred word*** will be seen. This is not doom saying. It is just a warning. To be forewarned is to be forearmed. Instead of insulting her that she is not God, take what she is saying serious and act fast by locking down your nations and close your borders while you follow all protocols WHO had put in place.
What she said is perfectly true. I wipe for Africa if our cases should escalate.Lets not crucify her
I think we have to listen to what Emmanuel is saying. he is making a reasonable point which our leaders need to abide. you see the population of China as compared to how they control their people is not we Ghana. the leaders need to stand up against this deadly virus. Italy and Spain all started it this way but now see what is happening there. Emmanuel I buy your idea
PeaceFM what you are doing is fuulish journalism. She never said “You Are Going To See Dead Bodies All Over Africa". If you want to quote then quote well. You just want to incite us against her. Sham.e
Speechless
Africa is a continent of about 50 countries. Ecuador is a country not a continent. We are tired of Africa being lumped together as if its one country. Why didn't she say South America instead of Ecuador? She should get off our back with their doom. AFRICANS will not die!!
I don't think this woman has said anything wrong and she doesn't need to be a prophetess to say it. Am sure we would have believed if that statement were to be coming from a Bible wielding "man of God" Look at Nigeria's population and compare it to Ghana. Ghana has tested 30000 more people than Nigeria which has tested only around 5000. The potentially infected people are loitering in their committee infecting others. In a matter of a months or two, we will what we are seeing in Italy, USA, Spain etc. The sad news is that we don't even have the facility to collect large numbers of dead bodies from covid-19 for mass burial. Policy makers in Africa should stand up. Sitting up is not enough.
