The Electoral Commission (EC) has declared the NPP parliamentary candidate, Dr. Kofi Asare a winner of the Akwatia parliamentary seat.
He pulled 17,900 votes of the total votes cast in the six polling stations, according to our correspondent, Obeng Manu.
The NDC candidate, Hon. Baba Jamal followed him, closely with 15,860 votes. Report says all the various political parties have accepted the result and the EC declaration.
Meanwhile the curfew imposed on the town last Sunday following reported violence in the area, is still valid till the government is satisfy with the people of Akwatia�s behaviour.
