The Acting Director of Ghana’s Parliament Kate Addo has refuted reports that all Close Circuit Television Cameras in the Legislature are not working. Kate Addo said there is nothing wrong with the cameras in Parliament and wonder why someone will claim the CCTV cameras are not working without proof.

The Eastern Regional Secretary of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) Mark-Oliver Kevor has alleged that the CCTV Cameras in Ghana’s parliament are not working, reason why the Joe Ghartey Ad Hoc Committee on Bawku Central Member of Parliament (MP) Mahama Ayariga’s bribery allegation was unable to produce the CCTV footage on report of the alleged vetting committee bribery scandal that hit the house some few weeks ago. According to the regional secretary, the CCTV cameras in the parliament house are all faulty and not working and that the law making chamber has no videos evidence to that effect.

He went on to say the committee did not tell Ghanaians the truth by pretending they have the video evidence when in actual fact they don’t have any videotape in its possession as evidence to support its work, MARK Oliver Kevor insisted on Onua Fm Morning Show ‘Yen Nsem Pa’.

But reacting to this allegation Kate Addo told Bright Kwesi Asempa that she has been reliably informed by the technicians in charge of the cameras that there is nothing wrong with the cameras. She insisted that “there is absolutely no truth in what the gentleman is saying”, adding that as far as Parliament is concern, the there are no reports that the CCTV cameras are faulty.

The Acting Public Director of Public Affairs noted that the teams in charge of the cameras constantly check on the cameras and there is no way they could be faulty.

In a related development, two Members of Parliament who were guest on the Onua Fm morning show, MP for Sefwi Akontombra Alex Tetteh and Eric Afful, MP for Amenfi West have corroborated the Acting Public Affairs’ story, maintaining that as far as they are concern, all the cameras in the Ghanaian Legislature are working.
