The Speaker of Parliament, Alban Kingsford Sumana Bagbin has said Parliament is broke and has no money to run the business of the House.
This, he said was due to the delay by the Ministry of Finance to release the needed funds to Parliament.
"Parliament is currently being run on arrears and the House should not be treated like one of the Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs)", he said.
Mr Bagbin said this on the floor of the House Thursday morning.

This Speaker is a joke. He is destroying his own reputation.
Mr. Speaker , if you don't mind kindly tell all Ghanaians how much was spent on you alone during your medical trip to Dubai both in and out. i am suggesting to you that if indeed parliament is broke then Mr. Speaker , you are the real caused of the problem.. Mr. speaker you aim is to sabotage the Government of the day and now now have the gust to talk .It is very shameful. Your thinking became shallow infantile .Mr. speaker you denied the noble Finance minster's call on the e-levy so why now talking. Mr. speaker ,you are now the worst speaker in Ghana since independence so parliament broke is your pre-conceived agenda and will be an albatross around your neck . Very shameful speaker.
