UK Parliament has invited members of the Constitutional, Legal and Parliamentary Affairs Committee of Ghana’s Parliament to a meeting over the anti-gay bill, Chair of the Committee, Kwame Anyimadu-Antwi, has revealed.
He told TV3 in an exclusive interview that the lawmakers will be leaving Kotoka International Airport (KIA) on Sunday, June 12 and then walk into the meeting on Monday, June 13.
“The invitation came to the Speaker and the Speaker forwarded it to the Committee. Four members of the committee including myself and the ranking member will be attending this important meeting. We take off on Sunday, we were supposed to have gone today but because of flight arrangement we will go on Sunday so we walk into the meeting Monday morning and by Wednesday we are done,” he said on Saturday, June 11.
The controversial bill has divided opinion in Ghana.
While some, particularly the religious and traditional groupings, supported the Bill and were hopeful of its passing, others say it could incur the wrath of the international community against Ghana.
The bill is being promoted by Ningo Prampram lawmaker Samuel Nartey George and some of his colleague legislators.

THEY SHOULDNT EVEN HONOUR THE INVITATION THESE DEVILS WANT NOTHING BUT TOTAL DESTRUCTION OF AFRICANS WE HAVE MORE IMPORTANT ISSUES TO ADDRESS THAN THIS ***barred word***....GOD SAVE GHANA
Why don't they invite Saudi Arabia or some of the Arab nations on this same topic. ***barred word***. Pass polygamy in uk firsr
I have absolute faith in my 4 MPs especially in Sam George that even if they go; though I don't want them to honour such irrational invitations, Sam George will put sense into the empty heads of the British Parliamentarians.
This is so insulting and our MPs too have accepted such disrespectful invitation? Wao
What ***barred word*** is this, who is going to pay for this ***barred word*** trip, is Ghana a Bristish colony? If they have a problem with the bill they should come and tell us not our MPs come to them. It is only ***barred word*** MPs who don't know what they are about that will honour this insult of an invitation.
This simply means something is not right. What at all are they going to discuss? The bill is for Ghana and what at all are they going to meet on? To influence the passage of the bill, NPP MPS why are you stooping so low? This is sad!
-Why the British hasn't invited Ghana on street children -Why haven't they invited Ghana on flood prevention - why haven't they invited Ghana on state of health care Etc. Why on this disease disorder. Malaria has been with us for centuries, they haven't invited us on it. They tried AIDS, is really not working, They tried ebola, etc not really working. The reason we had quick vaccine for Covid is because it was affecting them more. MPs shine your eyes, they dont mean well for us, and never will. Dont be intimidate. Stand and arise mother Ghana and African. Peace.
In the name of God, i hope those 4 MP's will stand on their feet and tell the British MP's that they i.e. The Ghanaian MP's are in parliament as representatives of the people. If the people they represent say they don't want something, they have to abide by it. I thought it was the white man who brought Christianity to Africa. Tell them to refer to the bible and show us where homosexuality is a human right. Ask them if God was wrong when he destroyed sodom and Gomorrah. Tell them the African culture is not the same as theirs. Britain is free to offer free visa, accommodation, feeding, work to anybody who feels threatened for engaging in homosexual behavior. The world is a big place, if Ghana's doors are closed to this ungodly practice, Britain can open theirs. It's that simple. Under no circumstances will the vast majority of the Ghanaian people tolerate this behavior, even animals don't practice homosexuality. We say a big NO to homosexuality, period. Britain should equally invite the Saudi, Iran, Iraq and Yameni authorities for same discussions.
Hmmm! Why? Can we also invite their MPs when they are debating something of National importance? Smh!
