Alhaji Moctar Bamba, a leading contender for the position of National Organizer in the NPP says the largest opposition political party needs strong, brave men like him to steer its affairs and snatch political power from the NDC at the next polls.
NPP, he said could regain political power in 2012 only when brave men remain steadfast to defend the party in the face threats and intimidation.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with DAILY GUIDE, the National Organizer of Nasara Club, an NPP Muslim wing said the next polls would be closely contested between NPP and NDC.
According to him there was no way NDC would give political power on a silver platter to the NPP, hence the need for the elephant family to select brave and committed people to represent it.
�We need to give the NDC a total thrashing in 2012 so they would not have any cause not to accept defeat in good faith, �he said noting this daunting task calls for strongmen to lead the party while in opposition.
Alhaji Bamba said NPP needs to match NDC �boot-for-boot� in the 2012 polls if indeed it is serious about returning to government.
Chances of winning
He observed NPP�s chances of winning the next polls looked brighter than ever following the economic hardships that have been meted to the populace within the past few months due to government�s bad policies.
He was however quick to warn the party against internal wrangling, saying it was only through total unity that the NPP could floor the NDC.
He admonished party faithfuls especially those at the grassroots to start spreading the good works of the party to win more support for the NPP.
Alhaji Bamba praised NPP MPs for their splendid performances in the august House so far urging them to sustain their good works. He noted there is a clear distinction between the NPP and the NDC MPs with regards to which of them were the better performers.
