This is to enable the nation to acquire knowledge and training that will produce first class citizens, in todays knowledge based economy. The one to be built in Volta region would be University of Health and Allied Sciences and in Brong Ahafo it will be University of Energy and Natural Resources.
The Vice-President said government believes that developing a strong human resource base is a prerequisite for building a vibrant economy.
The policy coordinator of Policy Unit of the office of the President, Dr. Christiana Amoako-Nuama on her part said Private Universities are doing well but we need more public Universities that will be more affordable to many people.
