THE MEMBER of Parliament (MP) for Manhyia, Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh says from all indications, God has won the battle of the impending general elections for the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

He said it was now left with the efforts of the teeming supporters of the largest opposition party in the country to ensure a landslide victory for the party in the polls.

Addressing a mammoth crowd of party members at the Abbbeys Park in Kumasi last Sunday, Dr. Prempeh, aka Napo, noted that the current happenings in the country proved that God was solidly behind the NPP.

According to him, since God was on the side of the party, surely Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, the NPP flagbearer, would win next years polls to steer the affairs of the country effectively. He however warned that the NPP faithful should shun complacency, backbiting and all acts that could create troubles for the party, instead they should campaign vigorously.

The occasion was the official inauguration of NPP Youth and Womens Wing at the Manhyia constituency which was graced by party big wigs and thousands of NPP fans.

In all, the NPP supporters in the Manhyia constituency, under the leadership of Dr. Prempeh, has formed Youth and Women Wings at all its 13 electoral areas in the constituency ahead of the 2012 polls.

The newly inaugurated Women and Youth Wings of the NPP would among other roles be touring the various households in the constituency to educate the populace about the electoral process, notably the impeding registration.

The Manhyia MP announced that the party, led by the Youth and Womens Wing, would start house to house campaign at Manhyia constituency in the first week of January 2012.

He said this was among the series of programmes that the party in the constituency had adopted to help the party amass more votes and topple the NDC in the general elections.

Napo entreated the electorate to find time and register in their numbers when it is time for voters to register in order to avert situations whereby they would be denied voting status.

He also stated that whether the ruling NDC liked it or not, the verification of the electoral process would come to pass since it has been duly captured in the national budget.

Napo cautioned the NDC against trying to mar the electoral process, notably the registration of the electorates at Manhyia, warning we will meet them fire for fire if they try to foment trouble.

According to him, information available to his offices indicated that NDC had plans of creating troubles in the strongholds of the NPP before, during and after the elections, warning that the NDC would meet their match if they dare try to create troubles.

Napo also admonished the electorate, especially those in the rural areas that it was not true that the verification machines could cause diseases such as stroke and cancer as the NDC was preaching.
