Mr Faruk M. Mayonga, National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary aspirant for Ablekuma Central Constituency, has said the office of the Member of Parliament belongs to the people and they should not be denied access to it.
In situation where one person thinks that he or she owns that office creates a problem.
Mr Mayonga said these when he filed nomination papers to contest the NDC constituency parliamentary primary, which is also being contested by Mr Theophilus Tetteh Chaie, the incumbent Member of Parliament, Alhaji Halidu Haruna and Mr Basha Harsey,
Mr Mayonga said if selected and eventually voted for as MP for the area, he would work to improve educational standards roads, tackle the problem of poverty and institute a scholarship scheme for brilliant and needy children.
I am not saying the NDC Government has not done anything but there is more to be done to alleviate the plight of the people, he said.
Mr Mayonga said he would assist business persons to acquire Government loans to enable them to expand their businesses.
