Citi News has learnt that the nomination forms submitted by the Member of Parliament for the Adenta Constituency, Kojo Adu Asare, have been rejected by the constituency executives.
Hon. Asare announced his re-entry into the contest only a few weeks after declaring his intention not to run for a second term. The sudden shift in position came as a surprise to many, including his own constituency members.
The Chairman of the Greater Accra Regional NDC, Ade Coker, told Citi News he cannot confirm the truth or otherwise of the report. Meanwhile, the NDC Chairman for the Adenta Constituency, Alhaji Zakaria Abdullah, confirmed to Citi News that as of the time nominations were being closed at the constituency level, Asare had not submitted his forms.
He said: The submission of the forms was over on the 23rd of December. At the time we were closing at the constituency finally, his form was not part of the one that we closed.
