The Alliance for Accountable Governance (AFAG), today embarked on a peaceful demonstration in Accra dubbed "Atta Wayo" saying Ghanaians have lost confidence and trust in President Mills and does not deserve a second term in office.
AFAG is particularly unhappy with government’s handling of the Woyome saga and also the removal of fuel subsidies saying it smacks of insensitivity on the part of the government.
The pro-opposition group is therefore calling for the resignation of the President before the December polls because they (AFAG) claim he is “presiding over corrupt government officials being described as ‘gargantuan criminals’. ”
Some of the inscriptions on the placards carried by the demonstrators read: "Atta Will Go"; "Atta Nie, Wayo Nie"; "Corruption Na Doube Double"; “Two Years No Pay To NIA Workers; Why?”
The AFAG demonstration comes just a day after a pro-government group petitioned President Mills to compel former government officials to cooperate with EOCO as it investigates the matter.
